Monitor going to sleep help

My computer suddenly started having this problem without any warning signs -

After loading into any game etc bf4, dota2, my monitor would just turn black and go to sleep.

Tried connecting to the onboard VGA and no problem.

Im using a sapphire r9 280 and the temps have always seemed normal. Any suggestions?

Tried restarting all settings on ur monitor? U have any other cables to test? DVI, HDMI, DP?

What drivers are you using?

I'm using the latest drivers which I just downloaded from AMD. 14.12 if I'm not wrong.

Uninstalled and reinstalled the drivers but still same problem.
And no I have no other cables to try, only the standard VGA cable lol. Though I doubt the problem lies with the monitor?

What monitor u using? Try to reset all settings on ur monitor, see if it helps.

At the same time, check ur PC settings as well. See if u had set any timer for ur system to sleep after XX minutes.

alright i think i managed to fix it for now. I just re-plugged the power connectors to my GPU and this managed to solve the problem so far.
