The AMD Radeon RX 480 Crossfire performance was tested in 3DMark Firestrike Ultra, Firestrike Extreme and 3DMark 11. Both cards were clocked at speeds of 1288 MHz which is a 22 MHz overclock over the reference clock speeds. In 3DMark Firestrike Ultra, both graphics cards were able to score 4880 points. A stock GeForce GTX 1080 scores around 5000-5100 points in the same benchmark.

The second benchmark is 3DMark Firestrike Extreme where the crossfire configuration of the Radeon RX 480 cards scored 9191 points. In the same benchmark, a stock GeForce GTX 1080 Founders Edition card scores at 9200-9300 points.

For comparison, the stock GeForce GTX 1080 scores around 9400-9500 points in the same benchmark while the non-reference variants of the GTX 1070 such as the ROG STRIX which can be obtained for a lower price compared to Founders Edition score 8292 points at the factory overclocked configuration.

wow all these leaks are pretty much from the same site, wccftech. Never even heard of them until now.

they must be drowning in ad revenue and publicity this month.

i'm gonna wait til the more "reliable" sources like linus or anand to publish their results as google search shows wccftech being somewhat questionable.

Am i missing something here? Never heard of them, so i googled "wccftech reliable" and apparently the general consensus is that they are a rumour mill?

Such a big facepalm, care to share what's so insightful about that site?

No point running 2x mid-range cards to get near the performance of 1 high end card. If you can consider the price of 2x mid range card already put you near the range of one high end card.

And in the future, you need to sell 2x the cards.

yup pretty much agree unless you have a special need for 2 cards or the overall savings of using two cards is worth it over getting one card like maybe 2 x $200 cards perform close to 1 x $700-$800 card.

Wait for Powercolor or AMD official to make RX 480 x2... Then we're talking about USD$400++ winning a USD$599 or whatever.

At this point, I'm seriously questioning the status of Vegas.

What if I told you

From tape-out until volume production takes one year

Does it matter? Even if they delay the production, there will always be some other products that suit your need. If u can wait then wait. if cant wait just grab whatever that is in your budget.

Say, is Firestrike usually bottlenecked by shader or TMU/***?
