Ok.. *398# works.. just extended expiry by 3 months by deducting only $1.40 from the main account!

Very useful for elderly folks who are low usage users. Thumbs up to singtel!

well, i wish ST can do better coz the Digi in msia can extend the expiry for 1 year for rm30. lesser worry of forgetting to extend.

starhub is top up $6 for 180 days

so 1 year I top up $12

now my card got $40+

hope starhub follow Singtel allow to deduct from main balance

now find Singtel more attractive can extend without top up

i use it like a pager because all prepaid card got free caller ID

so when i receive call i use the office phone to call back

so i seldom use except to SMS which is 10 free if i SMS 5 a day

actually when now the 3 telco service all s*cks why pay a premium?

just use the cheapest option available

i think starhub prepaid voice is the most value for money once top-up using DBS ATM can use for 180 days for S$6, last time is S$5

for internet, i subscribe starhub cheapest 3Mbps, because it is the slowest plan, the speed i get is always faster than 3Mps++

my pc is also one part spoil i will replace with the cheapest available pc component

my HP is the cheapest nokia 1280 last time S$36 now can buy S$28

so i never need to complain because all the stuff i get is the most value for money

even in the worst economic recession, uncle 168 can always survive

Prepaid mobile usage with data?

If I got a smartphone and want to use prepaid plans that includes data usage, how do I go about it.

-If I now own a normal sim card I need to change to a 3G SIM card?
-Which is a 3G SIM card?
-Which should I buy if I want to purchase prepaid data plans such as those shown (the 200MB for $10 one) : ("Most Affordable Data Plans" Section) -- the "Benefits | Singtel" page, the first result when searching "Benefits mobile data plans singtel prepaid"

I think what I need to do is buy a 3G SIM Card (but I don't know which one), and then use the phone to buy a prepaid plan (through calling *363 to subscribe -- but how does that work?)

buy the sim card, comes with data one. then go internet to topup. either to telco website or internet banking through bank (for certain services only).

Like you said, buy Singtel 3G prepaid 3G SIM card for $15, then dial *363# to add data.
If you have other teleco's 2G prepaid SIM card, you can port over to Singtel without change your HP number.
200MB for $10 ( 30 days ) is not a best option.
You can buy the conbination of $1 for 5MB (7 days ) and $7 for 1G ( 7 days).
So one $7 for 1G + three $1 for 5M = 1G data ( 21 days).:s12:
