My desktop runs into problem, hardware or software issue?

Before this, I have seen this screen a few times:

It happens when I left my Windows 10 desktop to runs overnight, or I left it to auto shutdown after a download is down.

Last night, I left it auto shutdown and when to sleep. Just now, when I want to boot it, I'm met with this:

I tried to boot a few times, same problem, and all this while, nothing shown on monitor, the led not even changed from amber to blue. So I turn off power from PSU, on it again, then try booting. It booted, but after a while, 5 minutes maybe, I saw this screen again:

I am typing this post after this blue screen rebooting. Have no clue what may have gone wrong. Can some experts help?

try and run on a single stick of ram, if error still occurs, use the alternate stick

There is no reason for a download to be extremely slow as nowadays internet is so fast. When you are having slowness, just end task and clear internet temp files & cookies. Use chrome and get secure download extension. Secure download help to make downloading faster and it scan the file with 40+ different brand of antivirus to say whether it is clean. Try to restart. Then dl with secure download.

Now since it is running into problem, may be try to boot it into safe mode. Then update your 3rd party internet security software like bitdefender etc to do a full scan to rule out worm or virus or malware etc attack. Then do the hardware test to see whether it is hardware issue etc. Then quickly cut and paste your data like photo to external drive. Then claim warranty for your Desktop. The manufacturer will have special tool & software to check your desktop.

Professional software in the market can check and tell you what is wrong but such software may be expensive for home user. Never run your com in admin account and always use a good internet security suite and configure it properly. Always DL with secure download extension to check the file. It is either virus/worm attack or hardware issue.

1) the picture shown here, seems like lots of artifacts. change a gfx card or if ur motherboard has a onboard gfx, plug out ur gfx card and try again.

2) what PSU u using? auto reboot there are many reasons. lack of enough power to the board when CPU is full load hence auto reboot.

3) bad pool header BSOD can be alot of reasons. drivers, system files an etc.

if u can, go to c:\windows\minidump and upload to somewhere for the gurus here to check

as spotted by mclairs83, artifacts were spotted. It could due to your graphics unit giving you problems resulting in the pc not being able to boot. If u are using a dedicated one, try removing it.

Else you can try removing all your rams and slowly them back in one by one.

many are talking about external USB devices. all this while I have a Seagate 4TB ext HDD connected. I will try removing this 1st and observe.

trying 1 stick of RAM at a time will take a bit more effort, I can only do this middle of night ...

This is a onboard gfx.

After the latest blue screen and reboot, I am able to use it and no auto reboot yet......

It will be best to remove the portable HDD immediately after u back up your file. If ransomware hide your com and your HDD is plugged into the USB then the HDD will also be locked up by the ransomware. Remember one day i forgot to unplug my usb thumb drive and i also can not boot up my com.
