Hihi, sorry to disturb and i know it is abit annoying to see so many gaming rig asking for advice. But here goes

MSI B85 G43 Gaming + i5-4570
Gskills Ripjaws 1600mhz 2x4gb kit
WD Blue 1TB
Plextor m5s 128gb(Any other recommendations?)
Powercolor r9 270 2gb
Xigmatek Spirit
Optical Disk Dive
Windows 8

Is there a need for graphics card? ive seen some recommended rigs without graphics card. I want to do some intense gaming with high graphics. Games such as AC, The Witcher, Dota2 and many upcoming games. :D

And im looking for mechanical keyboard and a mouse. Ive prefer cherry mx blue(clicky clicky). I also want the keyboard to have customizable backlighting. I have some keybaord in mind, one is the steelseries Apex.

My budget will be around 1.5k. Thanks in advance.

Your rig seems fine, almost same as mine. and yes gpu is a must if you want to play graphic intensive games . However if solely for dota 2 then it's not graphic intensive and no need gpu ba.

At least 280x bah... Presuming u r gaming on 1080p 60hz monitor.

Also, you are missing out on the power supply. Seasonic G650 will do.

Not sure if there are stock for i5-4570. But you can get i5-4460 also. Maybe can lower costs by getting MSI B85m G43 mATX mobo.

Does your budget of 1.5k include mech kb? Coz customisable LED mech kb do cost more than $140 at least. Unless u dun mind 1 set of led setting nia, which may be cheaper.

No such thing as futureproof. Can remain competitive for at least 2.5yrs

If you are content with running games at 1080 max, this rig should suffice for the next 3years or so. Games, graphically, seemed to have saturated and slowed down over the last couple of years.. Unless you're gaming in quad hd and beyond, you will not see the strain on current gen graphic cards. But these days, the hype for gaming is swaying towards the use of vr; it will undoubtedly be the next big thing in the coming years.

tS no casing or reusing old one?

if reusing, you need to check if it can fit everything ie; graphics length and cooler height if its big one

From the Xigmatek websites

XIGMATEK - PRODUCT

It states that it does not have any front fan installed. Only back preinstalled fan.

However if you need to have extra cooling you will need to purchase an additional 120mm fan and mount it from the front.

To do so, you are required to remove the front panel with a gentle pull from the bottom hole.

Once you pull out you will see a few screw holes infront. That is where you mount it.
