Nanyang JC has a long-standing loophole that allows students to get in through Arts stream to study Science subject combination. For many years, many NYJC students took advantage of this loophole. This year, new school principal just plugged the loophole. Nothing wrong with that but the problem is students now complain school misrepresented to them that they can still use this loophole. During open-house, students ask the school staff can or not. School staff says can. After apply and get into NYJC, principal suddenly say cannot.

Now, many of these elite O'level 6-points students want to transfer out of NYJC so that they can study Science subject combination in other JCs. Probably end up in lousier JCs despite scoring 6 points in O'levels. Students and parents now must be boiling mad. Principal sure tio complain to MOE one.

One of the top 5 JCs is the same... There are 7, top 5 JCs or 8?

Good for those who want to study humanities in a better JC. Can transfer in now.
No use one. NYJC cut-off points for Arts students is 6 points for Arts students. How many genuine Arts students can get into NYJC Arts? 6 points leh.
This loophole has been exploited by NYJC to lower their cut-off points for Arts stream by attracting students who want to study Science subjects in a good JC by applying in as Arts students.
