Need Advice DIY or pre build

Been using laptop all along so this will be my 1st home desktop

Have zero experience on DIY but read through some threads and got a rough idea of what i want .

My budget is only around $600-$800 ( no need keyboard , mouse )

Have a got a option of a 2nd hand alienware X51
($699 CPU only)

i7-2600 CPU @ 3.4GHz
4GB RAM
1TB HDD
Nvidia GeForce GTX 760
Wifi
DVD-RW
Win8

Or will a diy machine be more of a value ?

Purpose of com usage mainly is surfing net , watching/streaming movies music
light gaming , only game i am playing atm is Dragonnest

Things i would prefer

a smaller chassis ( saw the jonsbo v4 like that haha )
wins 8
wifi adapter

Any bros would help recommend on what to get ?

Thats the cpu specs someone offered to sell to me .

semi gaming i guess , currently i only play dragonnest , future mmorpg maybe but i dont play those intense 3D games

Just wondering for the price and specs he sells is it worth or will i be better off diy myself
