Hi all,
Sorry got a qn to ask, coz about 7 years ago, my friend helped me to assemble a pc, I think he bought 2nd hand for me, which costs about $3k.
Few years later, (3 years), the computer has been very fast, perfoming well but frequently hang for no reason, and kena blue screen.,nothing to do with the pogrammes I run.
So I am planning of either:
(1) give away? (probably no cost, I dont think I wanna spend money to repair it)
(2) Identify the problems , replace some parts at low cost and get it running again
(3) sell whatever parts that can be sold ( I know probably will get nothing much back) and use the money to buy a iMac.
I am also planning to sell off my macbook pro 15 inch which is bought in 2011 ( I guess it's the 2010 version which is last model by Steve Jobs ), working well, looking good, but just that the sound system is slightly softer.
Reason being that I have bought a laptop for work to replace the Macbook pro and I prefer a desktop at home, it's tiring to keep staring at the laptop compared to LCD.
I can provide the specs which I have right now, if you guys have any advice for me that would be good, I dont really know much about pc for now.
Processor : 1 PCS INTEL CORD i7-920 2.66 GHZ 3844A627
MotherBoard: GA-EX58-UD4P - LGA1366
RAM: 1600-6GB 3X2GB DDR3 CL8
Harddisk: WD RAPTOR 150GB/16M SATA
power supply?: ACBEL R88 1100 80+SILVER APPRO pc705409030000870b
Cooling Fan: C-MASTER V8 CPU FAN rruv8xbu11091101336
Video Card: PALIT GTX285 1024M DDR3- 1.0GB
Actually, I felt that current speed of the computer is still fast and good, just that it keeps getting blue screen hence it's really tiring to keep resetting my computer.
I use it to surf net, photoshop, ppt/word/excel, maybe occassionally play dota.
I tried using Mac vs Windows for photoshop and i felt that the Mac I bought in 2010 photoshop turns out to be much nice and very detailed compared to the windows and i don't really know why. So he told me that because the Mac resolution is much better? but my monitor is actually SAMSUNG B2430H Glossy Black 24" 5ms Full HD 1080P Widescreen LCD Monitor 300 cd/m2 DC 70000:1(1000:1) which is also full HD as well, but wonder why quality turns out to be different.
