laptop for watching 4k content not netflix and some light gaming such as wow and diablo 3

want to have better than average display screen and audio.

17 inch preferred if not 15 inch.

Is $1,200 possible ?

impossible.

Remove your expectation for a 4k screen, 'better than average' display and audio, then maybe it is possible. Your gaming expectations are still reasonable for $1200 budget, but it is the multimedia expectations that are not.

I also question the need for a 4K laptop monitor since you pay a premium for something that is not useful currently. There are more drawbacks with 4K laptop monitors at this point than benefits from my opinion.

up to $2000 budget.

ok i think the only 17 inch that can fit that budget is one of those Acer aspire V nitros

every other 17 inch here is a gaming laptop far above your budget

have to go to a harvey norman or challenger and find one then decide if the display meet your standards of 'better than average'

For audio at least my frank opinion is get external speakers if you have any quality standards at all for audio at all because no laptop solution can cut it
