Need Advice/Suggestion

recently my old rig (intel 4770) was giving some shut down issues too. the main culprit is cpu overheating as it is a 7 years rig. and after i changed the PSU a year ago i forgot to plug in the front case fan haha. so i bought a new stock intel cooler, reapply the thermal paste, dust the whole PC, reconnect all the fans and now it works like a charm. but i already done up a new rig before i did all this lol

Dang, shut down issues like when you play a game or watch a video or something then it'll shut down? Sometimes when I try to boot it again it'll have all the fan sound but it doesn't boot up (kinda like a fail start), then I need to reboot it again then I could let it go till the start screen. Was yours like that? Hence I suspect mine could be PSU I know nothing much about computers :/

I just untick the "automatic restart" thingy so it doesn't shut down when something crash and it didn't crash for afew hours so far.

Holy, that's awesome. I gotta try that too to be sure, ordered the thermal paste but it hasn't arrive yet.

it shut down a few times during youtube videos. i don't really game on my PC, work most of the time. but the CPU temps can be as high as 100 degrees. idle at around 50 plus. now the temps is between 38 to 65 degrees at rendering load so it is so much better. at least haven't see any shut down yet. previously i have to leave the side panel off to cool the system, now i can leave it covered.

Airblow your radiator and fans. Maybe the radiator and fan is cloaked up with dust.

Now that you mention, I didn't pluck out my GPU when I cleaned the fan previously and there's some ticking sound when I play games/videos. I'm guessing some dust is cloaking up the fan, by airblow do you mean like a hairdryer or something? (complete newbie)

edit: hopefully after thermal paste + airblowing the fans/radiator the problem will be gone else 99% it's my PSU

If you have a spare PSU you can test.

Oh cool! Imma go get that, hopefully along reapplying with thermal paste could last me awhile more until like if there's 12.12 promotion or even christmas!
