Hi,

I need some helps / advices.

My prebuilt desktop ( Lenovo Legion T7 34IMZ5) required a mandatory update(told me to restart computer to start update) today.

I update it but it got stuck in a bootloop of "undoing changes made to your computer" for almost 2 hours.

Based on online research, the issue is most likely a corrupted update and I have to do either a clean window installattion or go into safe mode and uninstall the lastest update. However, I can't even go into the bios screen. I keep spamming F1; can't access. F2 also can't access. Now the desktop is able to power on (fan and light operatable) but just show black screen; no display signal.

It's waranty coverage expired and lenovo live support only available on the weekdays.

Therefore, is there any solution for (1) the boot loop and (2) entering the bios screen so that I ultimately change the boot priority to do the clean installation process.

sounds like you’re not hitting the correct key to get into bios..

Unplug power cable or switch off mains for half a minutes, remove the CMOS coin battery to clear BIOS/UEFI setting. Try hitting the F1 again as soon as you power on.

I just managed to get into the bios screen by doing your suggestion and also changing hdmi cable and monitor (because I wonder whether is it due to incompatibility to the 4K monitor or cable when entering bios).

Is there anyway to enter window safe mode via the bios? I want to leave the clean installation as a last resort.

After exiting the bios screen, it just go to the "undoing changes made to your computer" loop again.

Is it best to leave it alone for now? how long should I actually wait for it to solve by itself?

Thanks for your help. I previously tried but it did not show me to the advance repair interface.

The problem started after window prompted me for a restart to update my computer today. Hence I suspect is window's faulty update causing the boot loop.

The weird situation now is that when I try to use the window 11 installation media from a USB drive recently. It showed two "system": "Window Rollback" and "Window 11". Is it normal to have "window rollback"?

You'll need to enter "Advanced Startup Options" or Windows Recovery Environment.

Try force restart when WIndows is booting and it should enter Advanced Startup Options. If it doesn't, you'll have to use a bootable drive like Recovery drive or USB flashdrive with Windows installation. You need a working system to create the bootable drive, or ask/borrow one from your friend.

Follow the details steps below:

Your best bet is Windows Restore to previous stage.

The Windows Rolllback is probably rollback back from Windows 11 to Windows 10, Try "Windows 11".

Noted.

I tried to let it auto-repair on the "window 11" but it was unsuccessful. Now I am using cmd to sfc/scannow and chkdsk; hoping that it will repair and remove corrupted files.

worst case senario would be to get a external m.2 adapter and plug into another pc or laptop then copy whatever files you need.

then make a usb windows install. use either rufus or ventoy (ventoy is prefered).

reinstall windows and copy back your files.

Thanks for your suggestions. I have already transferred the files I need via the notepad transfer method mentioned in the link provided by @limcc

wouldn't clean installation via W11 installation media solve the issues? is there a need for the rufus or ventoy?

Anyways, I just started WIN11 Clean installation suggested by the official link provided by Microsoft
