Hi guys,

I am currently suffering from Severe OSA (Obstructive Sleep Apnea) which doctor advise me to acquire a CPAP (continuous positive airway pressure) Machine.
The memo given to me to submit to MO is Severe OSA and is advised to require CPAP. Please assist in anyway you can.
Another memo which is earlier than the first memo on top - Chronic Post nasal drip exacerbating Asthma excuse IPPT 3-4months.

Starting from March Till now everyday I feel not refresh from my sleep due to OSA and I am suffering frequently nasal post drip which cause me breathing problems and coughing badly. Some time when deep breathing my airway feel like choking.

Wonder for my this condition, will i be able to down pes?

Would appreciate if anyone with medical knowledge could advise.

*Note: I am reservist

Thank you.

Only the MO can tell you whether you can downpes.

Why don't you just go for medical review?

Are you trying to say if someone here say you can't downpes, you don't go for medical review?

Ya you are correct, as no point in going there for review if no down pes, I prefer not to waste time to go down there and leave my work at workplace pile up for nothing.

That is why I see if got people experience in medical knowledge or who himself is an MO to advise first before I schedule appoinment.

i think you need to look at this from a different perspective

1) Unless the person who claims to have medical knowledge show proof that he/she has the necessary qualification to have the said knowledge, if not you willing to let your chance of downpes slipped by just cause the person who might not be what he/she claims to be said you can't downpes?
2) continue from point 1) if the person who claims to have the medical knowledge to comment say you can downpes and you end up not being able to downpes then what then?
3) having medical knowledge is one thing, being an MO with access to the PES grading guideline is another. You can have a lady doctor with medical knowledge but have never worked as a SAF MO thus not have access to the guideline.
4) even if there's a MO lurking here with access to the guideline, I think it's only foolish enough of him to leak classified guidelines on an open forum.
5) the condition that you have described may not be exactly the same as the another person with the same condition this warranty different PES status.

So maybe you want to consider whether letting what people said on this forum dictates your decision to seek a PES review or not makes any sense.

Well I agree with what you said. So pardon me for my earlier respond. So i guess I will just go for review and see how it goes then.
Thanks again

Don't think so much lah,u have a duty to update your NS unit any new or updates of your medical conditions

So u just go endorse all the memos, etc to the MO

Is your specialist or doc a male sinkies? If he ish, then u can ask him loh

Thank you.

you need a medical review, final decision is still SAF side

but if you need a CPAP, i think you are probably eligible for excuse stay in, at least temporarily, if not permanently, depending on how long you need the thing.
