Processor: Intel I5 6600K
Mainboard: ASUS Z170 Pro Gaming
Graphics Card: MSI GTX 980
Memory: Some random DDR 4 ram 12GB 2400Mhz
SSD: Sandisk 1TB SSD 2.5
HDD: Samsung 1TB 7200RPM
Casing: COSAIR 450D
PSU: Some PSU i forgot the Wattage bought when the case psu cannot power my 660Ti


Currently playing on a 3440x1440 @120Hz G-Sync monitor on low - medium settings on morden games with 100% cpu usage and Gpu usage. Sometimes will have micro stutter on COD Warzone , Monster hunter world , Ghost Recon Breakpoint

I will use my pc for gaming like triple A games and programming and should i just upgrade my GTX 980 to 2080ti/2080Super or tahan till RTX 3000

My budget is 3.5k-4k SGD

I want to upgrade to this :

CPU: *AMD Ryzen 7 3700X 3.6 GHz 8-Core Processor

GPU: Wait for RTX 3000 Series since rumored to come out on

Motherboard: Gigabyte X570 AORUS Master Motherboard

Memory: Corsair Vengeance RGB PRO DDR4 3600Mhz 32Gb (2x16GB)

Power Supply: Super Flower Leadex III Gold 650 W 80+ Gold Certified Fully Modular ATX Power Supply

I suggest you wait for RTX 3XXX, perhaps get an RX 5700 XT for the time being.

Do budget for an NVMe SSD.

I would try to hold off for now. If you don't think you can wait till the end of the year or early next year for the Ryzen 4000 series, wait until mid June for the B550's to be officially released and reviewed.

Entirely the wrong Monitor for your rig. Your upgrade requirements are the right components, or you could downgrade monitor.

I'm guessing its a staggered upgrade path which is why the monitor is what it is!

Yup bought the ultrawide during 2018, now i see the B550 offering then upgrade my CPU followed by GPU when the RTX 3xxx come out. Tks all for the replies

RTX 3XXX series coming out in 2020/21! We are already halfway into 2020

I’m using a 2018 desktop for my acer predator 1440p 120hz monitor no issues on ultra settings for CoD WZ

I suggest you wait for RTX 3XXX, perhaps get an RX 5700 XT for the time being.

This is what I'm doing, I'm building a new rig as of now but for the GPU you can first plug your old one in and upgrade the rest. Then when RTX 3000 series is launched you can just plug that in and you're good to go.

Of course if you can hold off everything till then that's fine, but I can't stand the itch to build a new setup.
