why not post your current rig and see whether it is worth to upgrade?

Nowadays, most of the games is bottleneck by GPU.

Is the building guide updated?

Haha. Well for a 1.8k budget, the generic advice is GTX 970 reference card then work backwards from there. i5 6500 is good enough with 1 8gb single channel DDR 4 ram and a 650-750 PSU. Can't advice you on Mobo/Case but you can get plenty of recommendations from the shops. I mean, it really depends on what you want. Potential SLI? USB A/C capabilities? Micro ATX? SSD/HDD?

NZXT case made by razer? I don't think that exists. If you mean a case that NZXT collaborated with razer to produce, then I think you mean the NZXT h440. Its a good case. A bit tight on cable management though, like most of the NZXT cases. Although the newer designs are trying to resolve this. I believe the newer one is the Noctis?

From personal experience, if you're really fast/lucky with the Qoo10 coupons, could be cheaper ordering online via Qoo10, and then store pick-up for the parts. Some of the online stores are Sim Lim stores, but you can use the Qoo10 coupons too instead of relying on bargaining.

I managed to get $300 off my $1.7k (+ monitor) rig cause of the CNY coupons and multi-accounts :D

PS: Plus if you assemble at their store, can still bargain for the assembling + casing.

You only require $700-800 to fulfil those needs easily...

More importantly, what other parts do you need within this budget?
