Hi all, I want to get myself a new computer and need help on building one. I am a totally noob in computer stuff. So i will go to SLS and have them to help me build.

I will only be using the computer for Google/email, YouTube and watching videos in 4K. No gaming at all.

Can you please help me to list down the things I needed and I will go Sim Lim Square and ask them to help me build it. Oh, I need a new monitor as well, prefer 23 inch above.

If possible, please let me know which shop to go, to prevent from kenna chop carrot head. Thank you all.

Depends on your budget and preference on the pc size, best is to do homework b4 going to sls to prevent chopping board.

4K videos? U probably be better off buying big TV size screen. E.g. 43 ~ 55" and above.
The bigger the screen, the more difference u feel between 2160p vs 1080p.

Get a cheap prebuilt or just a cheap Android Box. Put money into a good TV. Monitor wise, 4k makes sense at 30" and above.

I need a computer for work as well, to check email and other stuffs.

What kind of work? Video editing? Other stuff??
Email? Even yr phone or a smart tv can do that.
Since u want 4k screens, I assume u want to enjoy videos alot. Video and audio quality will be impt. Is there smth u need to do on pc which u can't do on a smart tv?

Unless u want to build gaming long bling rgb pc. Or build overkill pc machine just to surf Facebook.

Must make it a rule to state budget when asking advice for build recommendations.

Whats the logic of buying a PC over a laptop here? If its pure work usage then a laptop would make sense. Those that generally build PC's have workloads that are typically too heavy for a laptop to handle such as video editing or gaming.

From your requirements, it sounds like a laptop + 4K TV address the requirements best or am I missing something here,....

It depends on the excel... alot of the workload that is depending on excel has spreadsheets in the 1 million lines range... cos they put the entire DB or data in it.
