I recommend fair price xtra

Can also consider cheaper thinkpads (like edge series) on Lenovo sg website if you can get SMB or Student/Educator prices. If you have more budget, T/X series starting at 1.1k can consider.

Some OEMs like Dell/HP/Lenovo (biz grade) have hardware certification from certain linux distros and images tailored for your system, but thinkpads generally have fairly wide linux compatibility.

Prices are about USD conversion to SGD (+GST) these days. They're custom-to-order models so they can take a few weeks to reach u.

Yup, as per what encrypted has mentioned.

An alternative would be Dell's consumer range i.e. Inspiron series
Here

Or Lenovo's wide range of consumer series which does meet your budget - but may not have linux drivers on their support site.

Problem is the linux part. Many models can fit your budget. But whether linux drivers are supported is another question.
