Need help on directions!

Hello! Im sorry if this qns have been asked bef.
Im travelling to taiwan on 8th april.
Im planning a day to jiuen/shifen there & come back to taipei.
Possible that can travel both places in one day? And can we travel on our own? Need directions to go to this two places.

And hows is e weather like in april??

if u google for jiufen shifen you should get quite alot of blogs covering one-day trips
i am planning for 1 such trip, & heres my unverified directions:

Jiufen: Take MRT to Taipei Main Station at around 10am
Go to the TSR Railway Station to Rui Fang Station (cater 15mins buffer to find the correct platform) - Ticket around 59 - 150NT depending on type of train)
Travel to Rui Fang Station (Around 40mins)
Exit the station and walk straight towards Ruifang Old Street. When you come to the main road, cross it. The bus stop is on your right,
Exit and take a bus to JiuFen (Bus number 1013 towards Jiufen or 1062 towards 金瓜石) (15mins)
Alternatively can hire a cab tour to jiufen and shifen for around 2000NT

Jiufen to Shifen:
take the same bus back to ruifang train station around 1.30pm
buy ticket for pingxi line (single trip or full day)
note that the trains seem to be operating hourly, so you need to time yourself

you can visit both places in one day
In april expect occasional showers
take note, you cannot use ezylink card for this trip.

（台北到十分）
from tms, take train towards往蘇澳, alight at 瑞芳火車站.
from瑞芳火車站, take 溪線line toward往菁桐, alight十分火車站下車.

（十分到九份）
十分火車站-瑞芳火車站-轉搭1062公車or 788公車到九份.

You can go to Jiufen/Shifen or even Maokon & Raohe Night Market in one day.

April is good for travel in TW since rain season starts from May

Both can be done in a single day.

I like to plan it in this manner..

- Jinguashi(Reach around 0930H, just slightly further up from Jiufen)
- Jiufen(Reach around 12 noon as most shops open around this time. Take bus back down from above)
- Shifen Old Street
- Keelung's Miaokou NM

Basically from Taipei Main Station, take a TRA(Just take local train would be fine, around 40-45mins) to Ruifang Station, cross the street from the main entrance(You might wana snap a pic of Pingxi Line timetable at the station) to the bus stop opp(Infront of a convenience store), look out for bus labelled Jinguashi and board it. Will pass by Jiufen along the way up. After you're done, take a bus back down to Jiufen.

After Jiufen, take a bus back down to Ruifang Station and get the single ticket(If going to Shifen only) and off you go. Once done, grab another ticket to Keelung. Sit the same train until Badu Station and alight to change to train bound for Keelung.

Miaokou NM is a short walk away. You can google for direction.

Appreciate all to spell correctly as in Jiufen is just Jiufen. Don't later reach liao and think that Chiufen is another location.

As mentioned by all above, it can be done if you do not drag too long and knows where to hop onto the right transport.

Weather report again will be clearer on Yahoo, please check back then. No point asking too much into it as Taiwan weather does change overnight, though no snow yet during cold front.
