Why are you flying into Tokyo? Might as well fly into Osaka and then no need to waste all that money and time travelling to Kansai.

[edit] Eh paiseh, didn't see that you actually spending day 7-11 in Tokyo, thought only 7d total lol.

Personally for a first time trip in Japan I would probably not bother with lake kawaguchi. Just spend the entire day 2-6 in Kansai. Something like 2-3 days Kyoto, 1-2 days Osaka, 1-2 in Nara/Kobe, then head straight to Tokyo.

and the reason for not bothering with lake kawaguchi? too much travel hassle? i love the view there though. hope fujisan is not hidden by the clouds.

Haha for me i find kyoto having too much temples. would probably make me bored as later on in tokyo i would visit some temples as well.
