Okay I really need help in passing my NAPFA test as my enlistment letter just came and I'm going to enlist in 2 months. However, I really want to pass my NAPFA test as I've already booked a holiday then :(

The stations I'm failing is 2.4 and SBJ.

For SBJ, I'm able to jump around 210 from the last time I went.
For 2.4, I recently only managed to run 2km in 12mins.

Is there any training I can do to quickly improve my scores?
Note: I'm actually quite a sporty person (play football and badminton regularly) but I do smoke.

P.S: If anyone knows this, if i were to pass my Napfa 2 weeks before, will they re-enlist me on a different date or just still go in the same date as the enlistment letter states? <- very important :s12:

should be too late already. just imagine, every tom dick harry pass napfa two weeks before enlistment then they change all their enlistment date? no way.

they need time to prepare all your logistics: barang barang, your lodgings, your equipment etc.

all the best in army.

ord-ed personnel. :D

I called up CMPB and they said that you can delay the enlistment if you pass your napfa test. so don't worry about it. Think its better to pass at least 2 weeks prior to enlistment date. but when you pass your napfa give CMPB a call to check to make sure they got your result (in case)

For sbj, its possible, practice your technique. Search on youtube sbj jumping techniques.

thanks for the help guys. SBJ I'm only failing by about 6cm lol.
But 2.4 is my biggest worry. Any tips besides HITT?
Also, what about training intervals? I've been running almost everyday since I got my letter but getting tired very very easily.

HIIT is intervals. You may very between HIIT and lower intensity(longer distance) intervals. Mix them up. It's very easy to cut a few min in 2.4km in a relatively short time with regular training.

READ: For SBJ, imagine there is a basketball net in front of you when your on the sbj mat..then when u wanna jump, pretend that you are about to slam dunk the basketball into the net...

trust me,do the above and you'll see much improvements
when i was in bmt i saw 2 boys practicing sbj with very bad form
i merely told them to imagine your slam dunking the ball into the net and they straight off got huge improvements...

its just the change of your perspective that changes your muscle firing pattern

do it bro..trust me ;)

its possible to delay your enlistment and serve the 22-month NS by passing your napha even after you have gotten your letter. one of my temp staff at work did just that but im not sure is there any window period.

by the way, 2.4 is the easier to train. do HIIT and run a few trial 2.4 and you can cut off at least a min or more in just weeks.

Running everyday does help , but only to that little progression , as mentioned by others , HIIT is one good way of training for 2.4km , once - twice a week depends on your body condition . If you're going for distance run instead of interval training , make sure you time them , and aim to resce the timing everytime you do the same run.

Key word is quality and progression , doing the same old thing everyday will only get you to the same place. A lesson learnt the hard way myself for 10 years.

This.

By the way what's your current 2.4km timing? And what are you aiming for? It'd be easier to help you set certain benchmarks to hit.
