Need help upgrading rig

Good day everyone!

MY PC is about 3 years old and I am thinking of upgrading it. Some of the games I am playing are Diablo3 and FFXIV. Looking for a rig that I could play most games comfortably without any lag/difficulty.

Some other considerations:
1) get a solid state drive
2) windows 8 OS
3) Budget ~ $1200-$1500
4) monitor (optional)
5) decent cooling system? (leave my computer on alot)

Cpu: i5 2400 CPU @ 3.10GHz (4 CPUs)
Motherboard: ASRock H61M/U3S3
Graphic card: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 460 SE
Memory: Kingston 4GB 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM(Model:Model KVR1333D3N9/4G)x2
Storage: WDC WD10EARS-00Y5B1 ATA Device 1TB
Case: 3R System R120-V2 SE Casing
PSU: Seasonic M12II Bronze 620W
optical drive: SONY DVD RW DRU-880S ATA Device

R9 290 powercolor ~ $499(if you plan on playing other games other than the stated and now got promo very worth it to buy lols)
Msi R9 270x ~ $310
Windows 8.1~ $149 (actually if you on Windows 7 performance wise not much diff only start up speed diff)
Cooling system should be no need if you don't plan to oc but do check for the clearance of your case in terms of the gpu.
