So I bought my pc in June last year and assembled by gs and everything was well until recently I had problem in starting windows. It will get hanged and I had to force restart and restore from last restore point or last good configuration settings. I thought it was drivers problem so when I managed to login to Windows I updated all my drivers and downloaded Plextool to check my SSD and it is healthy. It worked and I even tested a few times by logging in and shut down and restart for at least 10 times.

Then 1 day later I couldn't login again. This time I couldn't even boot to Windows. What I got was "A disk read error occurred. Press ctrl alt del to restart." I figured perhaps it's time to reinstall my Windows 7. So I unplugged all external hdd, WiFi adapter, all data hdd and I'm only left with the SSD and just 1 piece of 4gb RAM. These were what I did:
Round 1: Stuck at "Setup is starting" after selecting language.
Round 2: Stuck at 0% at "Expanding at Windows file".
Round 3: Stuck at "Starting Windows" logo screen.
Round 4: Tried to install Windows XP and I got blue screen (0x0000007B) after the dvd-rom finished reading the cd.

Round 3 and round 4 repeated endlessly after I keep trying with both Windows 7 and XP.

These are my specs. All bought from Tradepac except the GC.
i5 4460 with Asrock H97 Pro4
Kingston Hyperx 8GB 1600MHz
Plextor 128GB M6S SSD
Superflower HX 600W
Powercolor R9 290
Windows 7 Home 64-bit

Please help~

I really suspect your windows system files are corrupted. Have you tried doing a clean install (i.e. format down everything to ground zero)?

But I've tried 2 different OS (7 and XP), both can't proceed with installation. Besides, i won't be able to format my SSD (or delete the partition) cos i couldn't get past the "Starting Windows" logo screen, no?

Any other advice please?

Is that even after you tried booting from CD drive? You dont have to go into windows to perform the format.

Yes, booting from CD and i get either 1 message from my round 1, 2 or 3 scenarios. I can't go into Windows anymore.

Hmm, i only have the bootable DVD. A bit noob here.. so if i copy paste the whole image from DVD to USB.. that should also work yeah?

Which message ya? "A disk read error occurred. Press ctrl alt del to restart."? You are referring to the cable for the DVD-ROM?

I'm really hoping to avoid the trouble of carrying the whole thing to gs~ T_T
