I started getting this after going into a game of league of legends where i start getting frame lag. After that it went to affect all of my programs such as youtube where it would load video really slow and freeze for every 10 seconds. I tried troubleshoot, clean, scan and updating my graphic driver. Although the freezing stop but my laptop still runs really slow compared to before the league game. What can i do?

My spotify also loads really really slow

Few questions:

- HDD or SSD?
If HDD, than you may need to add a SSD.
- Have you done a Windows update?
- Try clean install of Windows if you know how to.
But take note:
- Prepare the laptop driver from Lenovo, download of them
on a portable HDD.
- Reinstall Windows, do not connect internet whether WIFI
or LAN
- After windows reinstalled, install the drivers.

Suspect could be bloatware or Windows update.
Do also update the BIOS if you haven't.

Are there any chance its due to the hardware of my laptop? Like overplaying with my laptop and caused something inside my laptop to overheat or burn

- i am also using a hdd and am trying to do a clean install. But is it necessary to use a portable hdd if there is nothing important in my hdd and i can just delete everything?

No, Windows 10 running on HDD usually are slow especially if
it's a 5400RPM type.
If you have budget, install a SSD into your laptop.

The portable HDD I meant was for you to prepare the drivers and store them
inside. After reinstall the OS, you have to reinstall them.
Remember to disconnect from internet, this is to prevent OS from
installing the driver by itself.

Drivers from MS may not compatible with certain components which will cause issues.
Take note of this, cheers.

I made a mistake. My laptop actually uses a ssd not hdd.

I just switch on my laptop it was better and the frame freeze is gone. But there are still times where there are frame lags and buzzing sound when i play my spotify while using google chrome to browse stuff. Am trying to do a windows update now to ver.1903 windows 10

is your laptop plugged in while you game? pls do plug in to enjoy the best performance. install the spotify app from the microsoft store and see if there are any changes.

whats your laptop specs anyways? if your laptop have subpar specs you cant expect games to run at high fps also..

Its not in game but after i played that 1 round of game that the symptoms of frame lag/freeze and buzzing sound started coming out not just in the game but also in all my programs such as google chrome, spotify and all my stuff.

Im using lenovo thinkpad with
- 16 gb ram
- 512gb ssd
- Intel core I7-8550U Processor 1.8GHz
- Nvidia Geforce MX150 with 2gb DDR5

Hmmm i updated somethings in my laptop using the lenovo vantage and surprisingly my laptop stop lagging and give buzzing sound. Heres what i updated

- lenovo SSD Firmware update tool
- thinkpad video feature (NVIDIA N17S) Driver
- Intel Management Engine Firmware
- BIOS update

And magically my laptop started working fine. Is it related to this updates?

either the bios update or the intel firmware. lenovo probably knows this issue and pushed a fix to it. let us know if there are any problems

Probably the BIOS but I still recommend reinstall OS for best performance.

I think i found the problem. It happens after i tried to open league of legends again. Luckily this time the frame freeze didn't stay after i restart my laptop. I posted for help in the league of legend subreddit but if worst comes to worst i will uninstalling the game. I also found out that the cpu usage went to 100% when i tried to open the client. Maybe thats the problem
