Hi guys need some help regarding my itinerary for the fuji climb

I'm going to Tokyo with a good friend, his wife and his kid, we will be arriving in Tokyo via haneda airport on the 25th of July at around 4Pm Jp time.

We plan to head straight off to one of the inns at fuji five lakes after landing, after checking in and dumping all our unneeded gear, we (not including the wife and kid) plan to hike up fuji from Kawaguchiko Gogome 5th station for a sunrise hike, which will take around 7hrs max up and 4hrs max down

2 questions

Can someone recommend me a good inn / onsen around the area to appease the wife for a night ( no budget)

And can someone help me with the transportation timings from the airport and from the onsen/inn to the 5th station

Thanks

Since you said budget no problem then you can definitely fit his price bracket. :s13:

I helped you google for a few more.... (i.e. those with good reviews only lah)

Hotel Fujiginkei

Hotel New Century
富士山の見える温泉ホテル旅館|河口湖ホテルニューセンチュリー

Hotel Rakuyu

Hotel Fuji Lake

Some more info on hiking up Mt Fuji:
Climbing Mount Fuji

Bus info (Shinjuku to Kawaguchiko, and Mt Fuji 5th station:
Mt.Fuji | Highway-buses.jp

But it's going to be a long journey (flight + Haneda to Shinjuku + Bus or train to Kawaguchiko). You sure you are going to make such a long journey for the first day of your trip? What if your flight got delayed and you arrive at Japan later than planned?

Even if you arrive at Haneda at 4pm, then you clear immigration, collect bag, take train to Shinjuku, take bus to Kawaguchiko...it would be around 8pm by the time you arrive at Kawaguchiko. If your wife stays at a nice ryokan, there's usually dinner included in the room price, but if you guys arrive at the ryokan so late, you'd have missed the dinner time. So you'll have to find a ryokan/hotel with room only and no dinner plan.

Just book room with no dinner for the first night then. Those I listed are big hotels. It should be possible to book without dinner for the first night.

If you want to take train to Kawaguchiko:
1635-1649 Haneda Airport to Hamamatsucho via Tokyo Monorail Haneda Express (14mins, 490yen)
1654-1719 Hamamatsucho to JR Shinjuku station via JR Yamanote loop line (25mins, 200yen)
1730-1838 Ltd Exp Azusa train from JR Shinjuku station to Otsuki station (68mins, 2970yen)
1841-1934 Otsuki station to Kawaguchiko via Fujikyu Railway (53mins, 1140yen).

If you missed the 1730hr Ltd Exp train from Shinjuku station, the next Ltd Exp train departure will be 1900hr.

If you intend to take train to Kawaguchiko, you might want to get the 3 days JR Kanto Area Pass.
JR Kanto Area Pass
It covers the train ride from Tokyo to Kawaguchiko.

As for transport within Kawaguchiko...
Not sure why, but I can't seemed to find bus timings after 6pm.
http://transportation.fujikyu.co.jp/english/gettingaround/english.pdf

As for direct bus from Haneda to Mt Fuji 5th station, the last departure time is 1345hr (and arrival at Mt Fuji 5th station at 1717hr).
http://bus.fujikyu.co.jp/highw/jikokuhyo/31.html

Also, bear in mind that you will need to hang around at 5th station for about 1hr to get your body used to that altitude before you start your climb up.

I stayed at Yumoto Fujiya Hotel. Very nice and comfy hotel. The hotel room is quite big. Costed me ard $110-$120 a nite for promo rate.

5mins walking distance to Hakone-Yumoto Station, where u can take the tozan train to start the Hakone circle. Outside got buses to elsewhere also.

But dun know is it convenient for u all.

Yes can .... Lots of people do that due to the infamous human traffic jams
