[Need Recommendation] Changing To new Camera

Hello.

i have Canon 70d right now, usually i use this camera for trip shoot or normal shoot, planning to sell it.

i'm not a photographer, but prefer the image quality of camera but also i want to shoot video for memories or stuff like that.

I have two choices here.

1. Sony alpha A6500

2. Fujifilm X-T20

i rarely do things to raw, but sometimes i did.

mostly i want the camera is compact, stable, and good image.

i dont mind to use complex setting or whatever it is.

the lens i will use, is the complex one (kit). because i see other lens is not suit for me.

The question is:

Compare to a6500 and x-t20, which one is better. actually i was going to buy the a6500, but after see the x-t20. i have some doubt.

What doubts do you have after seeing X-T20?? I think the 6500 is a better choice, as it captures excellent video too, albeit the roller shutter effect. If you really want compact, you should go for compact camera instead. Kit lens quality may be questionable some times...

Why not research a bit on Sony RX100 M3 or M4 or M5?

from a system perspective, I prefer the Fujifilm glasses. I was looking at X-T2 body.

If I am in your case, I would go with a6500 because I own some Sigma DC lens.
The question here is what are your doubts?

Why not research a bit on Sony RX100 M3 or M4 or M5?

actually i did research about the sony m3 m4 and m5,
i ever used the M3, canon doesnt satisfied me, for the mirrorless camera.

I highly recommend Fujifilm over other brands, for ease of use and compact size wise.

I am using Fuji camera so… it gonna be BIAS but what is not bias LOL.

Fuji glasses are very good to being with; the drawback is the lack of other 3rd parties lenses for cheaper alternatives.

For IQ, honestly Mirrorless are on par or excels compared to DSLR but then good point for Fuji is SOOC JPEG with the film simulation is very good.

Reduce your need to spend time on Lightroom or any other processing tools. ^^


This is just what I think, no offense to others…

Mirrorless camera are made to be compact, there are adaptors to reuses lenses but a lot lenses are made for Full Frame, when you mount into a smaller body but got to lug around a huge lens unless it is those manual type else I think forget it.

yup, its a preference.

If I were to start from scratch today. I would take a hard look at Fujifilm X-T2 and Olympus OM-D EM-1 mark II.

haha, agree. I prefer EM1's controls but it is too expensive for me LOL.
hope the price would come down.

I find M43 portable for travel and streets, but for general purpose, I bring my Canon.

There was once, after using Canon for too long, I forgot the Olympus's controls and menus....

No point... to compare since most of them are not even apple to apple.

For your information, lenses get updated and normally they get better but then for any Lenses to go with Canon Mount, I really prefer the results that Sigma ART lens produces.

Most of my friends who are sticking to Canon have move to ART Lens series. Only thing they really missed from the old Canon is the.... weather seal... (ART lenses are normally cheaper too)

As for Adaptor. I believe Canon has one for the M bodies.

In terms of kit lens, the Fuji 18-55 f2.8-4 is superior to most kit lens I have used.

Nikon apsc 16-85mm, Sony 24-70 full frame.

At that price point, it's a no brained.
