So i do not know a lot about specifications and laptops.

hoping someone can help me :o

I am looking for a quality gaming laptop which preferably does not cost more than 3k sgd.

Best if it has at least 1tb of free space. Planning to use it to play high spec games like gta v, stellaris, fallout 4, saints row and other upcoming games.

Not interested in a desktop if anyone is wondering. Thanks :):):)

Look for anything whose GPU says 'nvidia GTX 1060' or above, and whose price is within your budget. Aftershock, Asus, MSI etc should have offerings under 3k, especially if you look at 15.6" screen sizes

1TB of hard drive is easy to meet the budget. Asking for solid state drives will jack up the cost.

You have no other must-have requirements (screen size, weight etc). Therefore the above criteria are enough.

thanks for your reply.

screen size preferably 17 inch and above or so.

weight and brand does not matter although i heard that asus is good.

idk what gfx card is better so i let you all decide :o

And oh yea RAM must be at least 16gb for sure. 8 gb really sucks :(:(

Lets take the top brand Alienware 17" as a benchmark. They are selling at $2,999, latest 1060 gfx but house only 8GB

Going down the line would be ASUS, Predator and Gigabyte. (I have bad experience with MSI, a lot of heat issues. And also, I find their design super tacky so I am biased and not going to recommend)
Aftershock is the cheapest but they cannot offer anything above 1050 gfx (probably unable to lock in the supply)

For the latest 10 series, I highly recommend at least 1060 (it is comparable to a 980), anything below is a waste of time. Just a fair warning 1060 laptops are mostly above 3k or hover around there.

You might want to focus on these models when you hit the IT show
Alienware 17
ASUS G752
Gigabyte P57(plastic), P37 (full aluminium)
Predator 17

Another value for money option will be going for the 980 gpu laptop (they were the highest end last year). If you go for 980gpu, you have more leeway and budget to add extra fluff if you need

asking for a 17 inch i think will make the choice more difficult

taking aftershock as a baseline since we assume aftershock as the value for money option, if you go to their website and pick the S-17 recommended specs, with the current IT show promo, its around 2.3k

now lets say you want that 16GB RAM and pick that option, that brings the price up to nearly 2.5k

at this moment we assume youre still ok with the baseline graphics card which is the 1060 since the 1070 will add another 400 bucks to the price tag

How does the competition fare? The only machine able to undercut that would be the 17 inch Asus strix laptops and those may lack 16GB RAM. Brands like alienware and acer are pretty much guaranteed to exceed your 3k budget. The Acer is in fact so overpriced that even their 17" predators using last gen graphics cost beyond 3k

by the way the IT show at suntec is on next weekend, you can go there and take a look at what price offerings the different brands have.

The problem is Aftershock don't have 1060 option.
You can go to their website to check.
You can only pick 1050. IMO, if you are going 10 series, 1050 is a waste of time since the performance is only roughly on par with 970M. You hamstrung your new purchase with a half decent chip. You could spent that same money and get a 980 better performance model

The last gen big names are selling for 2.4-2.6 now. It is the 1060 ones that are screaming 3k

You can only pick 1050 if you are buying one of the MX series (the MX series are the new ones that recently came out after the 1050 laptop GPU announcement)

The S and W series do offer 1060 and above, and it has been that way since August last year. You can config a S-series laptop for under 3k
