Hi guys, I need a small home desktop for home ftp server and inhouse website hosting for development purposes. It is not mission critical, I will be using software backup, so there is no need for RAID setup and server hardware technologies.

Budget as low as possible. Size does not matter
There is no need for graphics card.

I have...
keyboard, monitor, HDD, CD/DVD Reader, OS Installation.

Require at least DDR3 4gb x1
Reliable PSU (Will be running 24/6 * 365 1/4)

SATA interface is needed.

ASROCK B75M-ITX + G550 = 169$ (Best Bargain)
Ram = Reuse
HDD = Reuse
PSU: FSP300-50HMN 300W @ $36 (t258jgn)
CASE: Generic ATX Chassis @ $20 (TradePac)

Asrock B75 PRO3-M + Intel G1610: $150
Any 4gb value ram x2: ~$60
Toshiba 7200rpm 1TB: $77
FSP Raider 450w: $75 OR FSP300-60HCC: $49 (check the model if you're getting this psu. Different from pricelist but thats what I got.)
NZXT Source 210 $69 (or any case really. the source has loads of HDD bays though, great for a expansion)

Prices from Tradepac
Total: ~$431 / $~405

Casing think get a Elite 342/343 should suit his needs better since it is smaller and can fit just 1-2hdd less.
And the FSP 300 is only $39 SRP.
Ram now closing to $40 each.

BIOSTAR H61MLV2 + G1610 = 79$ (Best Bargain) H61MLV2 :: Motherboard :: BIOSTAR
Ram = Reuse
HDD = Reuse
FSP 300W 80%/+ = 39$ (PC Themes)

Would this motherboard and cpu bundle be good?
PSU Should be ok right? 1 year warranty.

For casing, I only look for 2 things, good airflow and cheap.

1. Best Bargain pricelist is far from accurate.
2. 18 Months warranty for the FSP 300W.

I don't think you will utilise that many HDDs right?

CPU+MB: Intel Celeron G550 + ASRock B75M-DGS @ $114 (Best Buy Computers)
RAM: ADATA Premier DDR3-1333 CL9 8GB @ $62
PSU: FSP300-50HMN 300W @ $36 (t258jgn)
PSU operates within 80 Plus Bronze efficiency with essential noise killer for very quiet operation.
CASE: Generic ATX Chassis @ $20

Total: $232

Optional:
CPU+MB: Intel Celeron G1610 + ASRock H71M-DGS @ $104
If usage of electrolytic capacitors don't matters to you.
MB: Gigabyte GA-B75M-D3V @ +$8 (Best Buy Computers)
Extra 2 Intel SATA II ports with Japanese made solid capacitors over ASRock B75M-DGS.

Buy others at Tradepac, #05-19.

Whats more important is making sure onboard LAN supports WOL and magic packet.

OEM FSPs only have 18 month of warranty. If distro give 5 years can close down liao. :s13:
