Hi I’m not sure about the RAM, but definitely SSD. It’s very fast.

Do you have an urgent need for the iMac? If not I'll recommend you to hold the purchase until a refresh.

For ram, I usually just get the value ones

You can find ram compatibility on sites like these

Fusion Drive or SSD?
SSD all the way, and don't skim on the storage.

SSD is much more expensive.

Fusion Drive is cheaper but if either the SSD or HDD fails you're screwed. Data recovery requires sending both the SSD and HDD in as a unit as costs a bomb. Recreatiing the the FD format requires the command terminal and is very fun. ;)

Forgot to add : if you're getting an iMac pro because you won Toto or something, both SSDs run in RAID format and can only be upgraded by Apple. Replacement of drives require serialisation.

Yea SSD is more expensive.
As someone who has used both a Fusion Drive and a pure SSD configuration. The SSD one offers a better experience.

The choice is yours! Just to add on in the past 1 TB fusion drive configurations were given 128 gigs of SSD but now you're only getting a 24GB SSD while the 2TB and 3TB Fusion Drives have a 128GB Flash drive
