Need some help on rig...

I have a relatively old rig.. i5-2500K on Biostar TP67B+. Recently went and bought a 280X as an upgrade. Issit an overkill.. need to upgrade CPU also to prevent any bottleneck?
My CPU also runs crazy hot. When playing Dying Light, the 4 cores reach a Max of 98C. Is it safe for the CPU to run at that temp?

No bottleneck

Maybe ur hsf thermal paste dry up, can consider clean up reapply or get a aftermarket cooler @ $40-50 to replace it.

last time i took out my hsf to clean the dust, i never reapplied the thermal paste..
i thought still can use.
