hi guys..

i am looking at gaming pc mostly..budget around 1.2 to 1.5k w/o monitor
usually play 2hr at night and and future proof around 3-5yrs.

Mobo : MSI B250M Bazooka I5 7500
GPU : Zotac GTX1060 6gb amp twin fan (or a 3gb will suffice?)
RAM : Kingston 16gb? or corsair vengence lpx 2400mhz
HDD/SSD: PNY128 SSd and Toshiba 1TB HDD
PSU: FSP HEXA 450
Case: Cosair 400C (or something similar but cheaper) i want window and good airflow..cuz i game w/o air-con usually

Have i miss out anything? Zotac should be ok right...my last GPU Sapphire HD5860 give up on me twice(within 3yrs) and i change to macbook

This way, you'll get 6 Cores 12 Threads CPU with a good cooler for some Overclocking protential (you've to OC the CPU to be worth it though)

Don't like to recommend the Zotac Mini, thermal throttling is real on this 1 fan GPU...

You want to future proof, don't stick to 4 cores.

The PNY SSD is slow, get a decent M.2 256GB.

If possible, 1070 instead of 1060

M.2 is not value for money. It's faster, but not notable unless you do heavy exporting large files in and out. Using pny for couple of system already. Negligible 1 or 2 seconds compared to much expensive Samsung 850 evo.

Agree on the Ryzen 5 1600. It's a viable alternative to Intel.

How much difference between 1 fan and 2 fans for the GTX 1060? I personally don't see much except for fan noise and 1 or 2 negligible fps for the lesser gpu boost.

M.2 isnt too pricey for the 250GB 850 Evo and that will reduce the need for extra cables. I agree can go for 2.5" Sata SSDs for cutting the cost.

GTX 1060 Mini wouldn't work well in Singapore because of high ambient temperatures. TS states he doesn't on Air-con so better to go for beefy cooler. Less temps, less throttling and quieter...

Ya..casual gaming and single monitor..so I think 1060 should be ok?
Honestly ssd speed I can't tell the diff if it lag by 1-2seconds
I got bad experience with sapphire.. Maybe I suay
Titan or define S/mini S look good. Maybe can add 1 more fan for extra air haha

Don't think TS needs a 550W PSU at $143, could go for HEXA 550W instead it's much cheaper, I think PCT selling at $65 (managed to bargain previously)

Corsair TX series is 80+ Gold certified efficiency, with 7 years warranty, semi modular cables.
FSP Hexa+ is only normal 80+ certified, with 3 years warranty, non-modular cables.

Power output is more stable and clean for better power supply. This is important, especially for pc setup that can be overclocked, like what suggested above. Also, cleaner power output with minimal voltage spikes doesn't wear your electronic components as much, reducing failure chance.

Highly suggest you overclock that setup to 3.7 or 3.8 GHz. As mentioned by many bros here, make use of the free performance boost you can get from an overclockable system.

Don't scrimp on psu..get the best quality one that you can afford
Sounds very cliche and naggy but my seasonic died anonymously. Glad it didn't bring the other parts along.

Maybe you can scrimp on ssd first because I'm sure you'll change it in few years time or resent the capacity not big enough

It's more expensive than i5-7500, but it's better in terms of value. In a long run, it's definitely better imo. More games/applications will utilize more cores and threads in near future.

get the p400 man, im using the tempered glass version, looks sweet and price is very good. lots of interior space. cable management very easy, included with 2 velco straps.

whats more the build quality feels and looks solid, had the nzxt phantom and bitfenix shinobi.. both cant compare with the build quality of the phanteks. (both more expensive also)

I doubt you will be able to find a Superflower 550W Leadex Gold. Your second best bet is Corsair TX 550 or Seasonic G 550W.

Superflower Leadex Silver 550W have at SLS around $110~ if you are interested. I got one 2 weeks ago. Gold probably hard to find 550W
