New graphics card support for old computer

I am intending to change my graphics card

Will my computer be able to support the new graphics card??
Currently using:
Intel Core 2 quad Q9550 2.83ghz 3.25 ram 12mb L2 cache
power supply: andyson f650
philips 190cw
old card is nividia geforce 250

Is there anything i need to take note of?

Judging from your specs, shouldn't have any problem fitting in a new gpu.

case clearance is in whether it fit the mother board and cpu ??
i using asus 5q se plus and cm 690

budget <$350... so my power supply will be enough to power any card with respect to my budget??

Just need to take note not to buy too long, if not your graphic card will hit the HDD cage, making cable management a pain in the ass.

Your PSU will be able to support any single graphic card.

Your monitor resolution is the limiting factor. If it's 1680x1050 or below, anything above a HD7850/GTX650Ti Boost 2GB (which would be $270 at most) would probably bring no discernible benefit. Both are short cards so you don't have to worry about card length at all.

Heck, I don't even think you need 2GB memory at that res.

I only can think 1 major problem. Your cpu will be your bottleneck if you get a 600 series and above GPU.

At TS resolution, the cheaper GTX650 1GB can Liao. Pricing at tradepac is $142. If gaming at full HD adjust to medium details to play.

Just get a 2nd hand GTX 560Ti.... Beats GTX 650Ti and almost on par with 650Ti Boost.
