Actually how to know what alu is used in a case? Lol I doubt most of the coy actually write the grade on it.
Approximately 75% of the alu panel are 6061 grade due to large demand and low price with decent hardness and ductility.
5083 are just as common as 6061, marine grade alu with higher corrosion resistance compared to 6061 with slightly lower hardness and higher ductility.
2024 are mainly use for bending/folding, it's lower in hardness but much more flexible (before breakage) compared to the 5083 and 6061.
7075 is another beast altogether, main use for aviation vehicles like helicopter, airplane. This grade is without doubt the premium grade thanks to the high hardness and extremely tough characteristic. It's also one of the most difficult to cut material due to it high work hardening properties, machinist without experience will end up with a half done job too hard to continue cutting using conventional cutter. it's also one of the heaviest aluminum alloy use for automation robotic arms which required high toughness and reliability with relatively good stress resistance.
