[New SSD Installation] Can someone help?!

Hi guys, just bought the evo 850 recently and am trying to install my OS in it.


What happened was:

-i have my windows installed on my adata SSD currently.
-i have my new windows setup ready on my thumbdrive
-i removed the adata SSD from my pc and inserted the evo 850 so that i can install my OS in it.

however, i couldn't even get to the bootmenu after i have mounted the Evo 850. All the F2, F11, Del keys couldn't work while I was on the bios setup. (My keyboard is working)

Anyone could possibly help?!

Not blank screen. It's just hanged at the boot up screen.

But pressing f2 or f11 doesn't help at all.

Did you set the BIOS to boot from the thumbdrive?

Or your keyboard only works in Windows?
Some USB keyboards might not be able to work before Windows is loaded.
You have to use a PS/2 keyboard or a USB keyboard which works outside of Windows.
Or just clone the data over to the new drive.

Haha, get a PS/2 keyboard to do the setup. I kena this issue before.

get Acronis True Image 2015 software to do a full backup for the adata SSD
and then install the new SSD pm me for further details

so meaning my usb keyboard is the issue?

but i'm typing with it now.

EDIT: isn't that weird? i just formatted my comp not long ago, no issue. I was able to boot using my usb drive like normal

if its not sata cable fault, can u check if its due to new ssd mbr corrupt issue causing bios freeze?
disconnect all drives, go into bios change from ahci to ide mode, then connect new ssd - see if bios still freeze or not.

if no freeze in ide mode, try using "clean" command in diskpart on the new ssd (disconnect all other drives!). then set back ahci mode in bios to try.

maybe you can change the usb type in bios as another, kind of legacy suppport or what. you just playaround those settings
