New ssd not detected

Need some help gurus. Connected my new intel 530 240gb ssd, but my bios wont detect it. I'm using an asus p8p67 mobo.

Swapped power cables, sata cables and sata ports whilst using an old crucial m4 ssd to test and seems like my connections are not e issue

Bios is already on the latest firmware. sata ports are on ahci mode. Any other things i shld try?

It is a wide known problem regarding this and intel has yet to come out with a firmware to address this.

Sadly mine doesn't detect regardless or a warm or cold bootup.

They've a new firmware update dated 19 of this mth. Followed their instructions and created a boot CD but still doesn't detect.

According to the last few pages of that forum, seems some pple have reported success after using the new firmware. Dang seems like it's just me.

Hi All,

The new firmware for the Intel® SSD 530 Series is now available.

Windows* users can download version 3.2.0 of the Intel® Solid-State Drive Toolbox at:

https://downloadcenter.intel.com/Detail_Desc.aspx?DwnldID=18455
(Firmware updates are part of the Toolbox download).

After installing the new version of the Toolbox, simply click the Firmware Update button to start the update process.


Non-Windows users can download version 2.0.9 of the Intel® Solid-State Drive SATA Firmware Update Tool and User Guide at:

Instructions for using the Firmware Update tool are in the User Guide.


We are confident that the new firmware will fix the issue of drives not being seen on restart. We
