Hi hi, currently in a dilemma between the few ultra books yoga, xps, RBS, surface pro. Honestly the "convertible" tablet is a pretty attractive feature but I heard yoga has some heating issues and the fan is crazy loud. I'm pretty much for RBS although I'm losing the tablet mode but it's razer and some people I ask are convinced that razer laptop's aren't to be trusted together with their customer service. Any advise? This is mostly for uni use and maybe abit of gaming. Not in a design or art course so it dosent need to be super high end. Thanks for replying!

The only tablet-ish Windows I'd consider using is the Surface Pro. A convertible is fancy on paper, but unless you are 100% sure you'll use the feature regularly, meh. And if you need the tablet mode, the SPro is a much better device for that spectrum as it's much lighter than others in its class. You need to ask yourself your own usage pattern.

As for uni/work, I'd rather stick to a traditional clamshell laptop. A lap-top, not a tablet with a fancy kickstand and "superstrong magnets".

End of the day, it's school and you probably you just need a workhorse that is durable, fairly light, lasts respectably on battery and has decent warranty.
