When are you travelling? I'll be taking SQ to TPE and Eva from TPE to Toronto then AC to NY a few days later.

Personally, I am staying at W New York Times Square and I intend to make reservations for Eleven Madison as well as Per Se.

First question: what on earth are you doing in Dayton? Ohio is lame. (Sorry, Ohioans, but it's true.)

So your actual questions: I have friends who've flown EVA transpacific and they've said it's fine.

NYC is huge, and there's stacks of stuff to do. There's literally thousands of restaurants, and thousands of stores - but stay away from the usual tourist traps, and do something unique. There's the Intrepid Museum; the High Line park; the Museum of American Finance; the Museum of Natural History... so many things to do.

As for hotels, we need to know how much you want to spend, otherwise the answer's always going to be the Plaza or the Carlyle.

Just did sin-jfk on eva 2 weeks back. Good experience and it's a little give and take compared to sq. Food wise it's worse but the seats have more legroom and recline more. Ongoing trip is faster than sq via fra. I stayed at the plaza and the room was jaw dropping. Very well maintained property but the service was not really up to my expectation.
