You have made statements that are irrelevant to the original question, some of which are proven to be wrong

Hkies have better options than coming to Singapore.

After the 2019-2020 HK protests ...

1. The British offered them citizenship. Some took it up.

2. The Chinese government also allowed them to live anywhere in China without a hukou. Some moved to Zhuhai and commute to HK for work. Others buy a retirement home in Nanning.

My statements were based on actual true accounts of my HK Colleagues and my residence in HK for 9 years.

Your assumption was that there are better options for those wanting to leave HK than to come to Singapore:-

(1) British offers HKers citizenship.

Is this better than coming to Singapore? All who are able to go to UK had already acquired British passports pre-protest. They don't have to wait till now.

(2) Ability to live in any Chinese City.

Hong Kong will be part of China come 2047. If this group, who want to leave HK, would / could find this option attractive, then they need not leave in the frist place.

That's a very small sample size. I have said that you are in priveleged circles.

You mentioned that 4 out 6 already had foreign passports in addition to their HKSAR passports. They are more expats than HKies. They can surrender their HKSAR passport to XJP anytime.

For the other 2, they might be interested in getting Singapore PR and eventually citizenship.

But the vast majority who wants to leave HK would still choose UK because it is easier.

In Q1 2021 alone, 34,000 HKies applied for the special visa to UK.

'Not everyone in Hong Kong has that luxury. Some lack access to B.N.O. passports, and others can’t afford to relocate. “They don’t have a credit history. They don’t have stable employment yet,” said Terry Leung, co-founder of Justitia Hong Kong, an organization that helps newcomers adapt to London and organizes pro-democracy protests and other events in the city.'

China has a hukou system to control internal migration. This is not applied in HK. Those HKies who qualify for a hukou in other Chinese cities are qualified talent. Many HKies are unqualified
