OK. Now in Niagara. Just sharing how you can get there easily on your own if you are in New York or close by.

1. Book a JetBlue budget flight to Buffalo Airport. You can book a bus trip but faster if you travel via plane.

2. At airport, as you exit, go down the escalator to where the buses are. Go out and turn left. There is a bus shelter about 50m. Look for the numbers 204 or 24. The schedule for the bus is here :
http://m.nfta.com/metro/
204 is express bus and fare is US$2.50.

3. This goes to downtown and takes about 20 min. It arrives at the Metropolitan Transport Center. This bus has free WiFi. So I update my location using Google maps.

4. At the MTC, wait at the same bus stop for bus 40. Fare is $2 and is a local bus so it takes about 50 min to reach Rainbow Blvd. Check for the bus schedule so you know when it should arrive. No WiFi here. BTW taxi fares are around US$80 upwards.

5. Get up and greet the driver and ask him to alert you when you get to Rainbow Bridge. He is a nice and pleasant driver. My Google maps help me to know when I am in the area. You will pass the coastal area and you can see Canada on your left.

6. The driver will drop you in front of an Indian restaurant. Cross the road and the crossing to Canadian Niagara falls is slightly on your right. There will be signs directing you through the park. As you walk in that direction, the cars driving via rainbow bridge are on your right. This takes about less than 10min. You will come to a turnstile. Go thru it and the American immigration will let you pass. No chops or checks.

7. You are now at the Rainbow bridge. It takes less than 10 min to walk but enjoy the scenery to your left as you walk. Since I am here for 2 days I carried a haversack. You can bring your trolley bag across but travel light. It was drizzling and so travelling light helps.

8. At the other end, the Canadian immigration officer will chop yr passport and ask you a few questions. If you are spore an student, bring your student papers for verification.

9. Once you are in Canada, walk to the left and up Clifton hill. This will remind you of Genting highlands , with all the amusement parks and rides.

10. Food is a bit more expensive but you can have Wendy's, KFC etc

11. I went for Hornblower trip and abt costs C$20 plus including taxes. You can get cheaper tickets if you book online but I want to time my trip with the sunshine. It was drizzling then.

12. Hotels vary in price from $70 upwards. You can pay in US$ but they will return you in C$. So use credit or debit cards.

Right in front of the falls. Bring waterproof bag for your camera. They provide cheap ponchos to keep your clothes dry but be prepared to get wet.

Only time I went, I signed up for a cheap land tour by bus in Chinatown NYC. Guided all the way by an American, with a stop at a Wendy's for lunch. Accommodation was at the Best Western at Niagara. At night, we could cross to Canada too. The next morning it was the Maid of the Mist.

You forgot the best part.

After crossing border into Canada side, go have a buffet meal and some entertainment at Sundowners. Best to go at night cos entertainment is better.

Food there tends to be a bit pricey but there are lots to choose from.
I ate at TGiF. Had the whole place to myself as it was early afternoon. The big screen TVs were showing sports programmes.
