IMHO.
Photography bucket list !
I managed to capture mine using Canon SX60HS with post processing ( DxO Photolab ).
I am sure the P1100 will be very capable.
mine was pseudo-AI-Enhanced-plastic-surgery-kim-ka-style Xiaomi 13U moonshot...but it was way better than that fake Samsung bs.

The details on the P1100 is amazing. so tempting...

For normal shooting I doubt anyone will be looking at that extra 200mm-3000mm equivalent. I have seen a lady carry one before, it is by all means not a small bridge camera, if not utilizing the telephoto end which it is suppose to be the value proposition, it can be alot of dead weight.

Many buyers are using them as digital binoculars or bird spotting.

The change from P1000 to P1100 is slight. there is a change in usb port to USB C, any "newer" processing remains to be seen for now, sensor size is still rather tiny.

P1100/P1000 sensor size is 1/2.3" which is smaller than 1" main sensor in your current XM Ultra and the main sensor on Iphone 16 Pro Max. While the zoom range is terrific, the image quality is secondary, and if P1100 turns out to be similar to the P1000 then pictures will be worse compared to your current smartphone.

My last Nikon was the D50 eons ago which served me very well... having retail therapy blues right now as XM15U still not out yet...

Impulse pre-order = regret buy?

Read that predecessor is really heavy...any p1000 owners here who can comment on real usage?
