Got a extra non RGB 4pin fan to power on my mobo that requires 12V, 0.72W, 0.06A

And I have the RGB headers available, can I use the AURA RGB header(happens to have 4pin, 12V, 3A) for the non RGB fan?

If your fan does not have rgb, it means they are using 4 pin pwm cable. Do not plug that into your rgb header. You dont plug jnto every hole that you see, right? Consult ur manual on what can and cant be plugged.

Your PWM fan should only work for headers labelled "SYS FAN". Check your motherboard manual on where they are. Use a fan splitter if there's insufficient headers

I have seen that manual, it is too brief. That is why I seek expert advice from you all! I see both almost same voltage and since I don't have a fan y splitter at hand, I wanted to try that. Lucky you let me know that

Yes, my mobo has Cha_fan, cpu_fan and Aio_fan. I have used up all, that is why looking for other headers

RGB header does not mean it's for RGB fans.
Yes I understand that from online sources but it doesn't say cannot put fan but you guys have confirmed

Perhaps you should start watching more youtube videos on how to build a PC, those released in 2018/2019. Will help you in the long run instead of second guessing.

This is my first build, I have been using Paul's hardware video (https://youtu.be/gHY6ygHj80c). He did explain the basics. A is A, B is B but in my case, I was asking for if A can be plugged into B.. and I searched online, some RGB fan is plugged into addressable header through some adapter? Paul's video covered the basics but I was asking for the a little more advanced materials like for example if thermal sensor is required?

Most RGB fans nowadays comes with 7/8 core cable but split into 2 sets. 1 is for PWM fan power and another is for RGB header. Both connectors are very different and easy to differentiate. Fan head connector will go into mobo fan connector, and same goes for RGB, no mixing around. If your mobo does not have enough fan headers, buy a PWM splitter and connect a few together.

Since your fan is non RGB, you can totally ignore the RGB header on your mobo.

Lastly, RGB and ARGB are 2 different things. These 2 are also not interchangeable.

12V RGB Header / Addressable RGB Header (A_RGB) / 4 Pin PWM Fan Header

All have different layouts and are incompatible with each other.
