I know there are already plenty of threads regarding accommodation and itinerary recommendation but when I try reading through them, it's a little info overload

May i request for some kind soul to give me a bkk crash course? i have no idea where are the must-go places in bkk (truth is the thai names are giving me a little headache when i was swimming through the infos via google). Mainly looking to go shop eat massage there, would like to go budget if possible, but won't wanna compromise on the quality too (hope it's not too much to ask for!).

So any help please?

Shopping can go Platinum Mall, Chatuchak, Union Mall, Terminal 21 etc...
Eat can go Chinatown, Street foods etc...
Swissotel Le Corde offers Japanese Buffet, not bad.. about 600+ baht per person..
Thai food can go Siam Square, there's a restaurant named Som Tam Nua.. not bad.
Massage can go Healthland...

soi cowbooy -> take BTS to Asoke alight.. then ask for direction. it is walking distance.

nana plazza-> take BTS to nana BTS alight then ask for direction .. it is walking distance...

best.. just your googlemap after alight.. should do the trip

think the others have mentioned most of the stuff already.
For shopping, as others have mentioned, there's a mall called Terminal 21 that's near Asoke BTS. it's a theme mall with different countries for each level. I bought some t-shirts for my boyfriend the last time i went, rather reasonably priced ($10-$15SGD), there's an entire level (london level) selling guys stuff so i'd definitely recommend you to shop there. Also has a large food court on the top level. If you'd like to see some photos i took, i can post them here, lmk.

Aside from Chatuchak weekend market (which you probably already know about), there's Talad Rod Fai, or the train market. It's very near Chatuchak, you can go after you're done with CTC. There are some articles about it on the net, and i also wrote a post about it here, you can have a read if you're interested.

For hotels when i went to bangkok i stayed at first house hotel and the period pratunam previously. Both are fine but the period is newer and nicely renovated. It's just slightly further from Platinum mall. Both are only barely 10 mins walk from platinum mall and cost about $40-50 SGD a night for double/twin sharing. If you want pricer more lush options there's centre point petchaburi, glow, baiyoke, centara watergate etc.

siam kempinski is a nice hotel. price can compare with sg hotels already. stayed there before but got discounted rates as got friend working in there.

Pathuwan princess very ex lol ... Can try arnoma or novotel or grand diamond around 1 min walk to platinum. 90 dollars for one night for 2 ppl
