Previously, I stayed at JR Kyushu Hotel Blossom Hakata Chuo. It was quite big the room.

For solo, even if the room is meant for 1 pax, as long as it is double/queen bed, is still more expensive

Usually I will look for single bed without breakfast. This time, clio court hotel fits. And it is even so near to hakata station as compared to other hotels that may be better but further than the mrt

Will be driving for the first time in Kyushu and will travel to Kumamoto after arriving at fuluoka airport at 9am.
Wonder is it advisable to drive from fukuoka to Kumamoto considering I have not driven before?

ive not driven before, but from my understanding in driving other parts of japan is that is is very very easy to drive.

hi guys, 1st time driving in jpn...

anybody travelled kyushu during october, how's the crowd?

thinking of renting car, how is it like finding parking at the various stops/destinations?

parking $?

do we need to rent their etc+card? i assume that's like their version of IU for tolls/etc?

ETC is for expressway tolls. if u intending to go thru multiple "prefectures", then will likely need the card. if u driving to/through multiple "prefectures" for multiple days, can also consider Kyushu expressway pass (KEP) on top of ETC. (if total toll cost will exceed KEP cost)

IMO, if got any chance u will use expressway, just pay that 330 yen for the card to get peace of mind. If end up nv use, its just $3.

i personally never used ETC before since i drive within prefectures only. the above is from research. will also be going kyushu end oct/early nov. booked cars with ETC, though unlikely to use expressways with tolls.

do u have an idea how big in Kyushu? if u just staying in fukuoka/hakata yes no need etc+card, actually u don't even need to drive

if you don’t mind stopping and paying at the non-etc toll gates then no worries.
