Guess im lucky to have an experience guide. He is very pro and maybe there a few spots which is popular in tromso. Must have the belief that u can see and it will come..haha

enjoy and good luck to ya
i'll be going with gunnar for a few nights
hopefully he will be able to bring us to the right spots too

am now in a dilemma as to whether to go to the polar zoo or not
it's quite far from tromso but really tempted by the close-up experience with the animals...
anyone tried that?

Wow if u hunting at Tromsø I would say the chance is quite high cos all the hotels got aurora tour and I saw 1 tour say free the next day tour if fail to see the light. So they must be quite confidence.

I went out of Tromsø too, about 80 mins drive to camp tamok for snow activities. To and fro, plus time spent there will takes about half of yr day. But of course worth it cos u can get away from the city.

Looks like I'll have to go to Norway Tromso in future to spot the lights. It's been cloudy here and temperatures are only -1 to -8 degrees celsius past few days....

Has been here for 5 days but no lights seen yet. Still have 3 full days to go.

Lights are no guarantee even @ Tromso. I was there 5 days and only managed to catch it on my last night.

yup no one can guarantee anything
it's really based on luck...
but at least my guide is willing to go as far as finland to try and catch it
so need to bring passport when going on his tour

the only way i can console myself is that if i didn't get to see it this time
i have an excuse to go back there...:s13::s13:

If it hits the equinox, then chances are it will hit good scale for it as equinox usually see higher chance of CME and geo storms.
