I intend to add another 4GB ram to my notebook. Do I have to get the same type to pair it up?

usually no.
the only type you will have to take note it DDR3.

some mainboard however, does not support mixed compatibility though.

I'm using Lenovo Y470. Would it be better if I bring my notebook down to Sim Lim?

Bring it out to test on the spot. If the ram is not compatible on the spot, you can choose another brand.

Based on the screenshot, you are currently using DDR3 1333 rams.
