Exclusive: Nothing Phone (4a) Pro Model Found in Database; The First Official Clues to its Existence

Main Image

Nothing continues to stand out as one of the most attention-grabbing brands in the smartphone world, thanks to its transparent design philosophy and minimalist take on Android. The company is now preparing to launch the next mid-ranger in its “a” series. The top-tier model of the series, the Nothing Phone (4a) Pro, has been detected in the IMEI database, confirming its existence before any official announcement.

Today, we are excited to share the Nothing Phone (4a) exclusive details and analysis that tech enthusiasts have been waiting for.

Nothing Phone (4a) Series Model Numbers Confirmed

The IMEI database is usually one of the most reliable sources for confirming a device’s existence. The Nothing Phone (4a) Pro, spotted here, is registered with the model number A069P. This model number clearly indicates that the standard version of the series, the Nothing Phone (4a), is expected to carry the model number A069.

This numbering system aligns perfectly with Nothing’s previous “a” series strategy:
  • Nothing Phone (3a) model number was A059.
  • Nothing Phone (3a) Pro model number was A059P.
This steady progression suggests the new series is not just a name change but a new generation set to launch with expected hardware and software upgrades.

While there are no concrete leaks regarding the code names or estimated technical specifications of the Nothing Phone (4a) series, it is expected that Nothing will aim to build upon the core features of the previous generation, implementing significant improvements, especially in the camera and processor departments, to maintain its competitive edge in the mid-range segment.

The Legacy of the predecessor: Nothing Phone (3a) and (3a) Pro Specs

To understand what kind of development the Nothing Phone (4a) series might bring, it’s useful to look closely at the specifications of the previous generation, the Nothing Phone (3a) and Nothing Phone (3a) Pro models. These two devices shared the same platform but were differentiated by their camera capabilities.

The Nothing Phone (3a) established a strong foundation in the mid-range segment, centered on the efficient Qualcomm Snapdragon 7s Gen 3 chipset. It offered a premium viewing experience on a large 6.77-inch 120Hz AMOLED display and featured a powerful triple-camera system, including a 50 MP main sensor and a 50 MP 2× telephoto lens. Completing the package were a robust 5000 mAh battery with 50W fast charging and the brand’s signature Glyph Interface, making it a well-rounded device.

The Nothing Phone (3a) Pro leveraged the exact same core platform (processor, display, and battery) but sharply differentiated itself by targeting photography enthusiasts. Its key upgrade was the replacement of the 2× zoom with a highly ambitious 50 MP Periscope Telephoto lens capable of 3× optical zoom, a rare feature in its class. Additionally, the Pro model boosted the front-facing camera to a high-resolution 50 MP sensor and added support for eSIM, appealing to users who prioritized advanced imaging and flexible connectivity.

Expectations for the Nothing Phone (4a) Series

The Nothing Phone (4a) Pro, revealed with the model number A069P, will aim to take the success of the Nothing Phone (3a) series a step further. To maintain its competitive advantage, strong expectations are set for the Nothing Phone (4a) series to deliver at least the following upgrades:

Processor Upgrade

A transition to a higher tier of the Snapdragon 7 series (e.g., a more powerful Snapdragon 7 Gen chipset) would significantly boost overall performance and AI capabilities.

Camera Hardware Upgrade

Especially in the Nothing Phone (4a) Pro model, improvements in video quality are anticipated, alongside more advanced sensors, likely retaining the 3× optical zoom.

Fast Charging/Battery Efficiency

An increase in charging power beyond 50W or the implementation of more efficient battery management are also among the expectations.

While detailed specifications remain unknown until the official announcement of the Nothing Phone (4a) series, the IMEI information is an exciting development for fans. All eyes are now on the official launch date to see how Nothing will enhance the performance and camera quality of its new mid-range beast while preserving the iconic Glyph interface.

TL;DR
  • Nothing is reportedly working on the Phone 4a, Phone 4a Pro, and Headphone a.
  • The Phone 4a Pro may feature a more powerful Snapdragon 7 series chip, while the standard Phone 4a could stick to a Snapdragon 7s series chip.
  • Leaked pricing suggests the Phone 4a will retail for around $475, and the Phone 4a Pro for around $540.

Nothing just launched the Phone 3a Community Edition — a phone that pays homage to its fan community. However, that’s not all the company has in the works right now. A new leak reveals that Nothing has two more phones in the pipeline, alongside a headphone.

Developer MlgmXyysd has revealed on Telegram that Nothing is working on two new phones: the Nothing Phone 4a and Phone 4a Pro.

Nothing Phone 4a leak

While both the Nothing Phone 3a and Phone 3a Pro use the same Snapdragon 7s Gen 3 SoC, Nothing could switch it up with the next release. The Phone 4a is said to come with a Snapdragon 7s series processor, while the Phone 4a Pro could come with a Snapdragon 7 series processor, which is usually more powerful than the 7s lineup.

Alongside the potentially better processor, the Phone 4a Pro could also support eSIM, similar to its predecessor. The phones could come in blue, pink, white, and black colors, although it’s not clear if all these colors will be available on both models.

The leak also mentions potential pricing for the 12GB RAM and 256GB storage models. The Phone 4a could cost approximately $475, while the Phone 4a Pro could cost approximately $540. Keep in mind that although the pricing is leaked in USD, it does not automatically mean that the phones will be sold in the US.

Nothing is also working on a new pair of headphones, called the Headphone a. These are said to be a rebrand of the existing Nothing Headphone 1, but with a plastic body. The Headphone a could be made available in pink, yellow, white, and black colors.

Nothing hasn’t officially talked about any of these products. Developer MlgmXyysd suggests on Telegram that the Phone 4a series and Headphone a could launch in March 2026. The Phone 3a series launched in March 2025, so this aligns with Nothing’s usual timeline.

We’re probably less than two months away from the launch of Nothing Phone (4a) series, with the Pro model having now surfaced through regulatory bodies.

The Nothing Phone (4a) Pro showed up this week on the EU’s energy labeling website, revealing a couple of key details.

The biggest detail here is that Nothing Phone (4a) will have a slightly larger battery at 5,080 mAh, up from the 5,000 mAh pack on Phone (3a) Pro and the standard Phone (3a). By that logic, Phone (4a) will have the same battery capacity as well. And, notably, this is the “rated” capacity, which for Phone (3a) was 4,920 mAh, implying that the Phone (4a) series will probably be somewhere in the 5,100-5,200 mAh ballpark.

Nothing Phone (3a) Pro was also rated by the EU for a little over 43 hours of use, where Nothing Phone (4a) Pro jumps up to over 63 hours. Durability is also improved, including a jump to IP65 dust/water resistance.

Nothing Phone (4a) Pro vs Nothing Phone (3a) Pro EU energy labels

The energy label was first spotted by a GizmoChina writer, who also notes that Phone (4a) Pro passed through India’s BIS certification this week. So, that signals the launch isn’t too far away.

Last year, Nothing Phone (3a) series launched on March 4.

Won't be surprised if Phone (4a) Pro gets Sillicon-Carbide Battery while Phone (4a) remains Li-Ion, and (4a) Pro a bigger AMOLED screen (6.77 inches).

This would likely make (4a) Pro a stripped down Phone (3) with SD7s Gen4, Glyph Lights and lower Ingress Protection Rating (IP65).
