That's a vocation? Usually I see is just a duty assigned to a clerk probably from S1 branch, each unit forms their own mess committee

There never was such a vocation. cook got but not messboy.

Messboy last time is those 2.5 years time cpl last few months do, those out of course, extra headcount, special circumstances kind of ppl do one.

On paper I'm a combat engineer but most of my NS life was spent as messboy. After ORD I went back to being a combat engineer.

Yes that's exactly what a mess boy is. Normally is admin staff CPL pes E doing such role, or we call it csm kar kia. Because some CSM or RSM is IC of the mess then he will assign his fav zbl to do such chores

Messboy last time during NSF time got. But the person was an ASA vocation, given the messboy role
Then last time mess got $1 tiger beer, the messboy need to be in charge during the evening hours, collect money, count stock, make sure nobody become too drunk. Also involved to any events related to the mess. But now i don't think SAF got beer anymore
