Hi all, just to enquire about the full duration of ns. What I heard was that everyone serves full 2 years, but I do know of people that serve 1 year 10 months. Anyone can clarify why is this so? I'm was a pes c that recently up pes to b and my ord date is 2 years exactly.

You need to enlist as a PES A or B1 and get at least silver for NAPFA to enjoy the 2 months discount. If you get downgraded midway through, you will still enjoy the discount.
Even if you get at least silver for NAPFA but don't enlist as PES A/B1 but upgrade to A/B1 midway through, you don't get the discount.
