NTU Chinese Studies ?

Hi, I am from an IT course with my 5 sem cgpa being 3.51.

Not sure which course I should try getting to (NTU mechanical engineering?), being that I do not have the passion for programming :/

Was considering HSS Chinese studies, since I have a slight interest in Chinese novels but I am afraid of the job prospects (Don't mind being a teacher though).

Anyone in HSS Chinese able to describe what it is like there? Not sure how NIE works, since my gpa wasn't high enough for the arts / science programme.

Olvl L1R4 15, L1R5 19 (Chinese A2, Rest B3/B4, no Amaths)

Appreciate if someone could advice me on which course I should go

It is a bit wasted when you are from IT background from your poly to study Chinese. Interested in Chinese novels may not be sufficient for you to do well in uni, there are other components like history, linguistic skills, culture, etc.
