NTU Public Policy

Hello guys.

Would like to gather some opinions about the new course in NTU, Public Policy.
This course was launched last year and had it's first batch in August 2013.
The number of students taken in is about 50+. The IGP 90th percentile is AAA/A.

I was offered and reserved a place. Currently serving my NS and will matriculate next August 2015. Apparently it's quite a competitive course. I am interested in joining the civil service (ie stat boards, ministries) after graduation.

Any opinions on this course? (curriculum, employment prospects?)

The 10th percentile is BBC/B this year.

Honestly, I think you are better off doing Political Science (Governance and Public Policy)/ Global Studies (Policy Making) at NUS. NUS - Department of Political Science and NUS Global Studies

Longer history in this field, better reputation, more module choices, more opportunities (for research, exchange, internships etc).

NUS FASS is definitely much better and well-renowned. NTU PPGA is a very new course. The first batch is still in year 1 as of now. From what I hear, there's not much of a variety of modules available, cohort is too small, as compared to NUS political science. There is quite an emphasis on group presentations as well from what I hear, which goes against the norm for social sciences which usually focus on readings and essays. Some people might say that this is a good thing, but not to me.
