Got a call from a local guy calling from uTrade. He got my name and want to verify that did I buy an insurance with them. I told him no I did not. He asked me did I click any banners or ads on the internet and activate the insurance. I told him no and then he said someone might have used my particular to activate it. The purpose of his call is to check my ID before the fee will charge to my account. This kind of approach and pattern alerted me as I also received scam call impersonate NTUC and UnionPay last year. This time the caller had my full name and ID number. He asked me to note down the policy no. so he can arrange to cancel it by coming down to his office. I told him I don't have any paper and pen to note it down. He started to get agitated and raised his voice said if I don't note it down how he is going to help me to cancel it. I said i am not interested in his nonsense and go ahead to charge me. He said will charge about $12K to my account before hanging up. Later I make a report to ScamShield. So please be aware!
