Nursing Home Options for Terminal Ill

I exploring nursing homes in the event that doctor announces me with TI cum immobility.



TI = less than 12 months of life expectancy with one can be mobile or bed-ridden.

Will visit the facilities one day when they are free to tell them what I want if that day really comes (I never believe in burdening kids who should have their own lives).

*if I got TI, I will have quite a lot of insurance money (incl Eldershield/Careshield) + can liquidate CPF etc. More than enough to fund my max 12 months on earth. Allium will be in my 'bucket list' and hope they have vacancy if need to apply.

In the event of can't afford by living 'excessively longer', then downgrade.

If I have less than 12 months to live and your finances, the only thing I want to do is to spend more time with my family and leave as much money to them as possible, instead of letting the nursing home earn.

Good if can get a slot in these. Most time have to 'fight' (I been through this during my late mum's time).

If only 3 months, splurge in Allium bah. Me worked so hard in my life and so deserve if possible the 'best' in the last 3 months (also giving my kids better peace of mind).

I have zero interest to leave money for my kids (coz I believe they can make their own keep).

Leaving some money to my poor siblings then Yes (but I also deserve some).

Sometimes home hospice is not a viable alternative. Depends on what TI.

6 months would be better if the criterion has changed.

Otherwise, patient ought to be transferred to a general care/dementia care nursing home.

Have you considered JB or some other cities or town in Malaysia? I understand they are not cheap either.
